Brillault Joins
the Youth For Youth Partnership
Over
3 million children are reported as victims of abuse each year. Being
very grateful for her wonderful blessings Ashlie wants give back
and help others, and is honored to speak out against child abuse
and youth violence in Love Our Children USA's national campaign
to educate the public… urging kids and teens like you to take
the first step.
Ashlie
feels so blessed because she would not have been able to achieve
anything without the support of her parents. They have given her
positive reinforcement to do well in school, in acting, and in life.
Some of her friends come from abusive homes and she has seen how
emotional abuse has adversely affected and deeply hurt kids who
are physically and emotionally abused. Ashlie and her mom try to
help her friends, but Ashlie knows that it really must come from
their parents, if her friends or any kids like them, are going to
have good self-esteem and healthy futures. Her mom explained to
Ashlie that when parents abuse their children, it’s because
they were more than likely abused and that’s what they learned.
One reason Ashlie likes playing "Kate" on Lizzie McGuire
is because there is always the message that Kate is not a happy
person. She is mean to others and in the end, her meanness always
catches up with her. Kate is portrayed as someone who has been neglected
by her parents and that is why she has become so mean.
Wanting to see support and opportunities for parents to learn different
behaviors and education … and for kids to learn about abuse
and get help, developing good self-esteem from their peers, Ashlie
wants to see child abuse and teen violence stopped and has partnered
with the Youth For Youth Partnership and Love Our Children USA.
Join Ashlie in making a difference for all children.
